Help with 2048
The arrow keys do not move tiles
Close any open menu or dialog, then click or tap the board and try again. Arrow keys, W/A/S/D, and H/J/K/L move tiles. Keyboard shortcuts are ignored while you are editing a field or holding a command modifier.
Swipes do not work
Start the swipe inside the board and move clearly in one direction. Use one finger. Swiping outside the board scrolls the page instead of playing a move.
My progress disappeared
Saves belong to the browser and device where you played. Check that you are using the same browser profile and game mode. Clearing site data, private browsing, or blocked local storage can remove or prevent saves. There is no server copy of a game save to restore.
A powerup is unavailable
Classic mode has no powerups. In other modes, a powerup needs a remaining use and a board where its action is possible. Select an available powerup and follow its instructions. Escape cancels tile selection.
The board does not load
Check that JavaScript is enabled and refresh the page once. Use a current browser that supports JavaScript modules. If a saved game is damaged, the application may start a fresh board. Clearing site data is a last resort because it also removes progress and preferences.
I prefer less animation
Open Settings beneath the board and enable Reduce motion. You can also change the theme there. The board adapts to the available width; increasing browser zoom remains supported.
